September Trivia Winners

We have four winners already for the September Trivia Question: Nancy Morrell, Penny Patterson, Teri Hagen and Terri Thomas. The official answer was: Vessels 26' or longer are required to display an oily waste discharge placard. This placard must be made of durable materials and fixed in a conspicuous place near the engine compartment.

Lady Washington Lands at the Foss Harbor Fuel Dock

The Foss Harbor Fuel Dock had the great privilege of serving the Lady Washington in its first week of operations. As many of you know, the Lady Washington was in the film Pirates of the Caribbean and also its sequels. The Lady Washington was shortly R-10 followed by the Hawaiian Chieftain. Both of these vessels participated in the Buccaneer Bash, which was held last Saturday at the Dock Building. The Bash was created as a fundraiser for the scheduled Tall Ship's Event in 2008. These two tall ships are currently headed for Olympia and the Labor Day Tug Boat Races.

Dressing Up For Your Donations

Some of you may have noticed the marina employees dressed up like pirates on August 3rd. We will be dressing up the first Friday of every month to inspire donations for non-profit groups. In August, we are raising money to donate to Tall Ships 2008. Come in on September 7th to see what your marina K-8 staff will dress up like next. September’s event will raise money for Citizens for a Healthy Bay.
